Which roads close on NYE in Dubai?

Based on last year's RTA plan: from 4pm, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Al Asayel Street, Burj Khalifa Street, lower Financial Centre Street and Al Mustaqbal Street. From 8pm, Al Sukook Street. From 9pm, upper Financial Centre Street. From 11pm, Sheikh Zayed Road between Al Maidaan and Commercial Centre.

The Boulevard can close earlier if its parking fills. Roads reopen gradually in the early hours once crowds clear.

What to do instead

Arrive in Downtown before 4pm or take the metro. It ran 43 hours non-stop last NYE. This page is updated the day the RTA confirms this year's plan, usually mid to late December.

Can I drive to Downtown Dubai on New Year's Eve?

Only if you arrive before 4pm and accept you will not drive out until well after midnight. The metro is the practical choice.
