Being near the show is not seeing it
A tower on the skyline is not a fireworks view. If the view matters, ask the venue what you see from your own seat.
Thinking of walking over to Downtown for midnight? Last New Year’s Eve Emaar told people using the free areas to arrive before 4pm, and each area was shut to new arrivals once it was full. Dinner here and the fireworks there is hard to fit into one evening.
Getting there on 31 December 2025
Business Bay metro station was one of the two stations people were pointed to, with Financial Centre, when Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station was due to close to entry from 5pm. The metro was timetabled to run all night.
On the night RTA also announced, at about 8:21pm, a partial closure of Al Mustaqbal Street between First Business Bay Street and Financial Centre Road, Gulf News’s live blog reported. Ask your venue which way to come.
No official plan for 31 December 2026 is out yet: no road closures, metro hours, beach rules or list of fireworks locations. Last season the plan came on 26 December 2025. We update this page the day it is out.
Driving home
Sheikh Zayed Road was reported closed at about 11:39pm and open again by 1:19am. If you drive, plan to leave after the roads reopen. Our road closures guide has the list.
