Who operates this website

newyeardubai.ae is operated by Machiavelli Marketing L.L.C, Dubai, UAE. It is a guide to New Year’s Eve in Dubai and a listing service for venues. You do not need an account to use it. We do not take guest payments and we do not complete bookings on this website.

What the site counts

The site keeps its own counters of page views and of taps on certain buttons, such as a WhatsApp or a call button. A record holds the page address without its query string, the venue it concerns, where on the page the button sat and a broad category for the site you came from.

If you arrive from one of our Google adverts, the record also says so, and which venue page the advert opened. To carry that through your visit, your browser keeps a one-word note for this site until you close the tab. Google’s click code in the page address is not stored and not sent to our counters.

A record holds no name, no phone number, no message text and no visitor identifier. These counters set no cookies.

A counter cannot tell us whether a WhatsApp message was sent, a call connected or a booking was made. The reports venues receive contain totals, not visitors. The private owner dashboard can export totals for chosen dates; an export holds no visitor identities.

We delete these records after about 180 days, so that a January report can still cover September to December.

Vercel Web Analytics

We also use Vercel Web Analytics, a service from Vercel, the company that hosts this site. It counts page views and records the page address, the site you came from, your country, your device type and your browser, as totals.

We send it the same button taps as our own counters, and three more signals: which question on a page you opened, the address of an outside link you followed and how far down a page you scrolled.

Vercel says the service sets no cookies and does not collect information that could identify you or follow you across other websites. Read Vercel’s own description of what it collects.

Google Analytics is not used on this site.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how the pages are used, so we can make them easier to use. Clarity records how you move through a page: where you tap or click, how far you scroll and where the pointer goes. From that it builds heatmaps and replays of visits, together with the page address, your device type, your browser and a broad location.

Clarity does not run on the venue form, and we never send it your name, your phone number or the text of a message. We send it the names of the buttons you tap, such as WhatsApp or the map, so a replay can be found by what was tapped.

Clarity sets cookies in your browser to recognise a returning browser and to join the pages of one visit. Microsoft handles this data under its own privacy statement. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings.

The map

The map loads when you open it. Its code is served by this site. Its map tiles come from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org). Like any website your browser contacts, that service receives your network address and basic browser details.

If you press the locate button, your browser asks your permission first. Your position is used inside your browser to show where you are and how far a venue is. We do not receive it and we do not store it.

Venue submissions and saved drafts

If you submit a venue, we receive the contact details, the offer, the prices, the photos and anything else you choose to send. We use them to review the submission, contact you, build the listing and deliver the agreed service.

Approved venue details and approved booking contacts are published on the listing. The contact details of the person who sends the form are not made public automatically.

Submissions are kept in a private store at Vercel. Vercel is based in the United States, so a submission may be held on servers outside the UAE. We keep a submission until we delete it; there is no automatic deletion date. To have yours corrected or deleted, contact us.

The form can save an unfinished draft of your text in your own browser so you can come back to it. Use the form’s clear-draft control, or clear this site’s storage in your browser, to remove it from that device. Do not use a shared device for information you want to keep private.

Please send only photos and information you are allowed to share.

Messages, calls and bookings

WhatsApp, email and call links open services outside this website. Your message or call goes to whoever the button names: a venue for a booking, or us for a shortlist, a question about an open listing or a listing enquiry. That service and that recipient handle it under their own terms.

A counter records the tap, never the message. If you write to us, we use what you send to answer you or to prepare your listing. The venue handles your booking, your payment and any personal details you send it.

Security and service providers

Our hosting service processes the technical data needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your network address.

To stop spam, the site stores a scrambled version of the network address a venue form is sent from. It cannot identify you, and it is kept apart from the counters above. The counters also limit how many requests one address can send in a short time.

Only the people and services needed to handle submissions can read them. We do not sell personal information and we do not give venues visitor profiles.

For access, correction, deletion or any other privacy question, email viralapp@hotmail.com or message us on WhatsApp +971 58 594 7693. Tell us enough to find your submission or enquiry. Please do not send payment details, or identity documents we have not asked for.
