No fireworks have been announced for the Burj Al Arab on 31 December 2026 yet. We update this page when that changes.
The hotel is being restored. Jumeirah’s own page says so and offers bookings at its other hotels, and Khaleej Times reported on 14 October 2026 that it remains closed until the third quarter of 2027. Last New Year’s Eve (31 December 2025) the fireworks went ahead, and the public beaches nearby were for families only.
Jumeirah’s page for the hotel carries a notice that the Burj Al Arab is undergoing a phased restoration programme, and offers guests a reservation at another Jumeirah hotel. The page gives no dates.
Gulf News reported on 29 September 2026 that the hotel is closed for an 18-month restoration. On 14 October 2026 Khaleej Times, interviewing Jumeirah’s chief executive, Thomas Meier, reported that the hotel remains closed until the third quarter of 2027. Khaleej Times reported in April 2026 that every restaurant inside stops operating during the closure.
So the hotel’s own restaurants and terrace are not an option for 31 December 2026. No fireworks have been announced for the Burj Al Arab on 31 December 2026 yet. We update this page when that changes.

In the lists of fireworks locations printed by Gulf News and Khaleej Times, the Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Madinat Jumeirah were three separate lines.
The Burj Al Arab stands on a man-made island 280 metres off the Jumeirah coast and is 321 metres tall, Khaleej Times writes.
Gulf News named Jumeirah Beach and Umm Suqeim as the popular public places to watch, and said people gather early.
The official plan reserved Dubai’s public beaches for families on New Year’s Eve. Dubai Municipality named four, as reported by Gulf News: Jumeirah Beach 2, Jumeirah Beach 3, Umm Suqeim Beach 1 and Umm Suqeim Beach. According to Gulf News the rule ran from 3pm on 31 December 2025 to 6pm on 1 January 2026.
A 2023 Gulf News beach guide says Umm Suqeim 1 Beach is also known as Kite Beach and overlooks the Burj Al Arab. No source ties the name Sunset Beach to the list, and none says a beach off the list was open to everyone.
Umm Suqeim Park was among the neighbourhood parks kept open for extended hours that night. Gulf News gives no closing time for it.
Next door, Jumeirah Beach Hotel’s fireworks were visible from the shoreline and the public beach around it, Gulf News wrote. Madinat Jumeirah had views of the Burj Al Arab fireworks, the paper added, and walking access there may be controlled near midnight.
Midnight has averaged about 22°C at the airport on the last ten New Year’s Eves. Last New Year’s Eve it was 20°C, and the forecast, as reported by Gulf News, warned of north-westerly winds of 15 to 30 km/h, gusting to 50 km/h. The sea off this coast was about 23°C.
