Burj Khalifa fireworks on New Year's Eve

Burj Khalifa fireworks on New Year's Eve

What happens at midnight

The headline show of the night. Fireworks fire from the tower itself, top to bottom, wrapped in a full LED light show on the world's tallest building. The display runs several minutes and is visible for kilometres, but the closer you stand, the more the tower itself becomes the show.

Where can you watch the Burj Khalifa fireworks for free?

Burj Park, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and the Dubai Mall terraces are the classic free zones. Around 800,000 people fill Downtown, so free spots are a 6pm commitment, not a 10pm stroll.

How do you get in and out?

Take the metro. Roads around Downtown close in phases from 4pm, and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station itself usually shuts around 5pm; use Financial Centre or Business Bay stations and walk in. The metro ran 43 hours non-stop last NYE, so the ride home always exists.

See the live closure map on the homepage for every closed road with its closing time.

What time are the Burj Khalifa fireworks on New Year's Eve?
Midnight, 31 December. Arrive by 6pm for free viewing zones in Downtown; they fill hours before the show.
Where is the best free spot to watch the Burj Khalifa fireworks?

Do roads close for the Burj Khalifa fireworks?
